A Fictional Character not unlike Ufological creatures or the MIB

The "SlenderMan" creature, in the news of late because two twelve-year old girls stabbed a friend, hoping to belong to his "cult" and live in his castle -- all aspects of SlenderMan being fictional no less, but a viral presence on the internet.

The look is like that of the UFO lore's Men in Black, and his fictional behavior also MIB-like.

Has the MIB meme morphed into a fictional creature with a life-like presence; one that has nothing to do with UFOs but operating in a similar fashion to the MIB phenomenon?
